Scenery Hotel Saba
Laid-back luxe on a ridge above the rainforest
Why Go
Ten gingerbread cottages and thirty rooms clinging to a ridge at the foot of Mount Scenery — this is the Unspoiled Queen's first proper boutique hotel, opened March 2026 on the site of the beloved Scout's Place.
The Experience
Perched at 9 Fort Street in Windwardside, Scenery leans hard into the contrast between Saba's wild, volcanic drama and a genuinely polished stay. Rooms are split between Ocean View Terraces, standalone Ocean View Cottages, the multi-bedroom Scenery Suite, the elevated Scout's Sky Room, and the intimate Ocean View Cove — every category framed by either the Caribbean below or the rainforest climbing up behind you. The centerpiece is an infinity pool ringed by garden and jungle, with the Grand Scenery Lounge pouring rum flights and complimentary breakfasts built on island-sourced produce. Wellness is a serious part of the pitch (massage, yoga, spa rituals), but so is adventure: the trailheads for Mount Scenery and the diving desks for Diamond Rock are both a short walk from your door.
What to Try
Book an Ocean View Cottage if you want privacy and a private terrace at sunset, or the Scout's Sky Room for the widest island-and-Caribbean panorama. Do at least one late-afternoon swim in the infinity pool once the cruise-less quiet settles in, then order a rum cocktail at the Grand Scenery Lounge. Ask the concierge to line up a Mount Scenery summit hike in the morning and a Diamond Rock dive in the afternoon — the property is designed to make that combo painless.
Insider Tip
Rates start around $259, but the shoulder weeks either side of the busy Sea & Learn festival (October) are when you'll find both the best rooms and the emptiest trails. Because Scenery inherited the Scout's Place footprint, longtime Saba regulars sometimes still call it that — mention the old name to older locals and doors open faster. Also: request a room on the upper ridge line if you're a light sleeper, since Windwardside's main lane runs just below.
