The Experience
The Bottom outpost of the island's favorite Windwardside bakery brings the same warm, no-fuss charm to Saba's sleepy little capital. Step inside and you're met by the smell of fresh bread, a case stacked with butter-slicked pastries, and a chalkboard scribbled with the day's soups and paninis. A handful of tables fill quickly with schoolteachers, USMS students, and hikers coming down off Mount Scenery. Service is quick, unfussy, and thoroughly Saban—expect to be called 'darling' at least once and to leave already planning tomorrow's return visit.
What to Try
Start with the apple turnover or the almond cookie—both are island legends and reason enough on their own to detour into The Bottom.
