St. Lucia's international gateway
Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) sits at Vieux Fort, on the southern tip of St. Lucia. It is the island's main international airport and handles its long-haul and jet services.
Hewanorra or George F.L. Charles?
St. Lucia has two airports. Hewanorra (UVF) takes international flights. George F.L. Charles (SLU), just outside Castries in the north, handles regional and inter-island traffic. Check which one your ticket names before you book onward transport — they are at opposite ends of the island.
Getting north from the airport
Most visitors stay in the north, around Castries, Rodney Bay and Gros Islet. From Hewanorra that is roughly an hour to an hour and a half by road, so allow for the drive when planning your arrival day and your departure. Arrange transfers in advance where you can.
The airport is operated by the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA).
