Puerto Rico (San Juan)
| Weekly departures | Weekly seats | Destinations | Airlines | Largest carrier share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 941 | 115,778 | 48 | 17 | 35.5% |
Puerto Rico (San Juan) ranks 2nd overall (81.6) and 3rd regionally (80.2). It is a gateway with 102,951 extra-regional seats, and its 941 weekly departures are the most of any island in the index.
The United States takes 81.8% of seats, the Caribbean 11.1%, Latin America 5.1% and Europe 1.8%. Leading routes are Orlando (MCO), with 129 departures and 21,902 seats on JetBlue (B6), Frontier (F9) and Southwest (WN); St Thomas with 57 departures; the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana and Santo Domingo) with 49 departures and 7,782 seats, to both airports; St Barths with 49 departures and 392 seats on Tradewind Aviation (TJ); and Miami (MIA) with 47 departures and 8,289 seats.
JetBlue is the largest carrier at 35.5% of seats (HHI 1,856), and 35.4% of destinations have two or more airlines. No Caribbean partner takes more than 16.7% of its Caribbean departures. As a gateway, it received 601 extra-regional arrivals with 103,552 seats, 3.3% of them long-haul. Same-day options reach 8 islands for 70.1% of arriving seats, with a median wait of 1.8 h.
Only San Juan is indexed; Aguadilla, Ponce and the other Puerto Rican airports are not. For 166 of 941 departures, seats were estimated from an airline-level default. The San Juan–St Thomas pair is flagged for uneven directions. In full-year 2025 data, departing domestic US flights were 87.4% full.
Score and rank
The connectivity score is an index on 0–100 built from departures, destinations, airlines, hub links and seats; the regional score uses the Caribbean subset only. Both are defined in the methodology. Not a percentage — an island does not have "96% connectivity".
| Measure | Score | Rank |
|---|---|---|
| Overall | 81.6 | #2 of 28 |
| Regional (Caribbean only) | 80.2 | #3 of 28 |

Resilience
How exposed this island's connectivity is to one airline or one route stopping. All three figures are derived from the route table below, so they can be checked against it.
| Carrier concentration (HHI on seats) | 1,856 of 10,000 — higher is more concentrated |

Low season against peak
Peak week pending. This edition measures the week of 19 October 2026 only, and that week is an early shoulder week rather than the bottom of the season — some winter services start in October and others in November and December. The peak week is collected separately, and no low-versus-peak comparison is shown until it exists.
