What to Try
Start mornings with a swim before the heat sets in, then bike or grab a taxi down to Waterkant for roti at a warung and a walk along the Suriname River. Cook in at least one night - the kitchen is fully stocked and the Central Market (about 2.8 km away) is a great excuse to shop for peppers, cassava, and pom ingredients. Come back for sundowners on the terrace: parbo beer, pool view, done.

Bring cash in SRD or USD - the property is cash-only, and ATMs in Paramaribo can be temperamental with foreign cards, so pull out what you need on arrival day. Also, ask about the bicycle before you book a taxi; Rainville to the historic center is a flat, easy ride and you'll see far more of the wooden colonial architecture on two wheels.
