Kastawey Beach Bar is the Four Seasons' most quietly clever hangout ΓÇö a barefoot-luxe perch on Pinney's Beach where a handcrafted wooden fishing boat anchors the room, sushi chefs work behind the bar, and the golden hour over Nevis Peak does the rest of the heavy lifting.
The Experience
Slide off the sand into a teak chair arranged around a beached Caribbean fishing skiff ΓÇö the boat is the bar's design signature, and it sets the tone: rustic, deliberately low-key, and unmistakably Nevis. The room opens straight onto the adults' reflection pool and the west-facing sweep of Pinney's Beach, which means everything from the light to the breeze is angled toward sunset. Service is Four Seasons-polished but casual enough for damp swim trunks and a linen shirt. Order from the raw bar, watch the chefs slice, and let a rum cocktail arrive as the sky turns the same color as your sashimi.
What to Try
Start with the Kastawey Roll ΓÇö spicy lobster, local Caribbean fish, cucumber and masago ΓÇö it's the kitchen's calling card and does a beautiful job of marrying Japanese technique with island ingredients. Round it out with a few pieces of nigiri or sashimi and a ceviche made with the morning's catch. To drink, the Kastawey Smash is non-negotiable: it's built on Clifton Estate Rum, distilled right here on Nevis, so you're literally drinking the island. If you're not in a raw-bar mood, the wraps and chopped salads travel well back to a lounger.
Insider Tip
Aim to be seated by 5:30pm ΓÇö the bar closes at sunset, not later, so 'sundowner o'clock' is also last call. Grab the teak two-tops on the beach-facing edge of the deck rather than the ones closer to the pool; you get an unobstructed sightline to St. Kitts across the Narrows and the light hits the sushi counter beautifully for photos. And ask the bartender to riff on the Smash with a different Clifton Estate expression if you want to taste through the local rum lineup.

Open daily 11:30am until sunset (closing time shifts with the season ΓÇö roughly 6pm in winter, closer to 7pm in summer). Located on the beach in front of the adults' reflection pool at Four Seasons Resort Nevis, on Pinney's Beach in the Saint Thomas Lowland parish. Walk-ins welcome but reservations via OpenTable are smart at peak sunset hours and for larger parties. Dress is resort-casual ΓÇö swimsuit-with-coverup is fine at lunch, a little more put-together by cocktail hour.
