Amuseum Naturalis at The Old House is a free, open-air natural history museum located in the historic Old House plantation building in Quartier d'Orléans, French side of St. Martin. Created by the Les Fruits de Mer association, it features outdoor self-guided exhibits on the island's unique nature, biodiversity, endemic animals, native plants, traditional agriculture, bush tea garden, heritage architecture, building techniques, and cultural elements including African and Amerindian influences in farming and bush medicine. The site includes viewpoints with stunning views over Orient Bay and Le Galion beaches, gardens, poetry exhibits, and a theater for original documentaries on St. Martin's nature, culture, and history (also available online). It highlights what makes the island special through educational displays, events like festivals for endemic animals and migratory birds, and encourages visitor involvement.
