The rule

Flights carried out over a populated area are subject to a prior declaration to the territorially competent prefect, which may give rise to a flight ban or restriction.

In accordance with article 6 of the order of 3 December 2020 on the use of airspace.

How to file

The declaration must be made only electronically, in your user area via the Alpha Tango portal.

Warning: a declaration sent by any other means will not be accepted.

It may only cover flights beginning at the earliest 5 working days and at the latest 30 days after the day the declaration is sent.

In the event of a change or cancellation, the prefecture must be informed.

What to include

The declaration must be accompanied by the documents needed to consider it, and in particular the acknowledgement of the activity declaration issued by the DGAC.

What happens next

Note that silence from the prefect counts as acceptance, under the order of 3 December 2020.

A restriction or overflight ban may be notified to you if safety, security and public-order conditions are not met.

Further permissions

Night flying is prohibited, except with prefectoral authorisation.

Submit your request 30 days before the date of operations.

Any overflight of the Saint-Barthelemy or Saint-Martin national nature reserve requires prior authorisation from its respective manager.
