The Experience

Book the sunset river cruise if you only have one evening ΓÇö you glide past the wooden waterfront while fruit bats stream out of the palms overhead and, if the tide's right, caiman eyes glow along the mangrove edge. For a full day, the Commewijne plantation loop (Frederiksdorp, Peperpot, Marienburg) hits the country's colonial and coffee history in a single, unrushed swing.
