The Old Garage runs on a slow build. Roll in around opening for happy-hour drinks and a quiet chat under the ceiling fans, watch the room fill as the sun drops behind the palms, and by mid-evening you're squeezed shoulder-to-shoulder against a wall covered in vintage license plates and hand-painted signs. Friday is the marathon night ΓÇö doors open in the late afternoon and things don't wind down until nearly sunrise. Wednesday and Saturday keep a more classic bar-hopping rhythm, with cocktails at the counter, a live acoustic set or DJ tucked in the back corner, and plenty of spillover onto the terrace. Fridays are the night ΓÇö the bar opens earlier (around 3:30 pm) and runs latest, but the sweet spot is arriving between 7 and 8 pm to grab a stool at the bar before the after-work crowd swallows the room. Cash in Surinamese dollars is smoother than card for quick rounds, and if you tip the bartender on your first drink you'll get noticeably faster service all night. Skip Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays entirely ΓÇö the doors stay shut.
