The Experience
Zanzi sits toes-in-the-sand on South Frigate Bay, one of a cluster of easygoing beach bars that make up 'The Strip.' Grab a lounger under a thatched umbrella, order a rum punch, and settle in ΓÇö showers and beach beds are free for the price of a meal. The kitchen surprises everyone: alongside expected burgers, pizzas and wraps you'll find a genuinely excellent Indian menu (the family behind it takes the curries seriously). As the sun drops behind Nevis across the channel, tables get pushed back, cocktails start flowing faster, and a DJ or live band takes over. By 10 pm on a Friday you're in the thick of the island's best nightlife scene without ever having changed venues.
What to Try
The butter chicken and chicken tikka masala are the standouts ΓÇö regulars call them the best curries they've had in the Caribbean ΓÇö and the lamb biryani is worth the wait. Ask the kitchen to dial the spice up if you like heat; the default is tourist-friendly. Pair with a passion-fruit rum cocktail from the extensive drinks list, and if you're grazing between swims, the quesadillas and thin-crust pizzas travel well to a beach lounger.

Come for a late lunch (around 2ΓÇô3 pm) when the cruise crowd has drifted back to the ship ΓÇö you'll get a beach bed, a quiet swim, and unhurried service. Then just stay: order another round, watch the sunset, and slide straight into the evening entertainment without moving. Cash sometimes gets you a better exchange rate than card, and Friday and Saturday nights run until midnight when the DJ is on.

On 'The Strip,' South Frigate Bay Beach, about 10 minutes by taxi from Basseterre and 15 minutes from Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport. Open daily 11 amΓÇô11 pm (until midnight FriΓÇôSat). Expect around US$40 per person for a full meal with a drink; snacks and cocktails significantly less. Reservations aren't usually needed but expect 30-minute waits at peak dinner hours. Beachfront outdoor seating with showers, umbrellas and loungers.
