The Experience
Turn off the main road in Oranjestad and the noise of the world drops away. Days here follow a slow, deliberate rhythm — a dive at one of Statia's untouched reefs, a hike up The Quill's rainforest crater, then back to the roof deck where the property's real showpiece waits: an unbroken 360-degree panorama that turns molten at sunset. What to Try
Climb to the rooftop deck at least twice — once for sunset over the Caribbean and once at dawn for the Atlantic side. Book a two-tank dive with one of Statia's small local operators; the Aquarium dive site nearby is one of the marine park's healthiest reefs. Hike The Quill from the trailhead just above the property and descend into the crater's rainforest interior. Between excursions, stock the kitchen from the little Oranjestad shops and cook in — the open dining area was designed for long, breezy dinners.

Statia has no cruise ships, no chain hotels, and only a handful of restaurants that keep consistent hours — treat provisioning as part of the trip. Fly in on the small Winair hopper from St. Maarten with the lightest bag you can manage, then hit the grocery in Oranjestad the same afternoon so you're stocked before the shops close. Also: rent a small 4x4 rather than a sedan. The road up to the property is steep and the Quill trailhead requires clearance you'll regret not having.
