What to Try
Wake early for the fresh-baked pastries and coffee, then walk straight from the deck onto Lorient Beach — the reef-sheltered right side is calm enough for the villa's kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, while the left side kicks up the cleanest beginner-to-intermediate surf on the island (grab the boards from the beach shed). Order in a private chef dinner and eat by the pool as the trade winds pick up, then use the villa as a launchpad: it's five minutes to Saint-Jean for lunch and shopping, ten to Gustavia for sunset drinks, and fifteen to the wilder beaches on the east coast.
Insider Tip
Book the villa Saturday-to-Saturday to line up with the Lorient fish market and JoJo Supermarché runs (both a two-minute stroll away) — most guests over-plan Gustavia and miss that Lorient is actually the island's most self-sufficient neighborhood. Also ask the butler in advance to arrange a surf lesson with a local Lorient instructor rather than driving to a school; they'll come to your beach.
