Ask the on-site team to have the pool heated for your arrival — at Vitet's ~286-metre elevation the trades can bite from November through February. Take at least one breakfast on the terrace before the sun clears the ridge; the light on the hillside at that hour is the whole reason to book east instead of west. If you have the villa for a full week, split the stay in two: a few nights purely on-property, then a couple staged around Grand Cul-de-Sac windsurf lessons and a long lunch down the coast at Le Toiny.

Vitet's road is steep and narrow — rent a small 4x4 (Suzuki Jimny is the local default), not a Mini Moke, and leave Gustavia dinners before 10 pm so you're not descending in the dark behind a tour van. And don't skip the short drive down to Petit Cul-de-Sac at low tide: the reef pools there are the quietest snorkel on the island.
