Down at the Beach Club, order the tuna tataki and a bottle of rosé, then rent a board from the surf shack — Toiny is one of the island's best breaks for intermediates. Back at your villa, request an in-suite couples massage on your private terrace rather than trekking to the spa cottage; it's the same therapists, twice the intimacy.

The Beach Club's cove looks tempting but the current is real — it's a surfer's beach, not a swimmer's. Use the Beach Club's dedicated infinity pool for actual dips, and if you want to swim in the sea, ask the concierge to arrange a car to Gouverneur or Saline (about 20 minutes west). Also worth knowing: the smallest 'Ocean Suite' category is 925 sq ft with its own pool — there's genuinely no bad room, so don't overspend on a category upgrade unless you want a second bedroom.
