Beach House St. Barth: Barefoot Mediterranean on Grand Cul-de-Sac
Wood-fired pizzas, sand between your toes, and Marigot Bay glinting through the palms.
Why Go
Tucked onto Rosewood Le Guanahani's private peninsula, Beach House trades the see-and-be-seen circus of Gustavia for something quieter — an all-day open-air restaurant where breakfast pastries, lazy lagoon lunches, and Italian dinners unfold to the same soundtrack of trade winds and turquoise water.
The Experience
On a Grand Cul-de-Sac morning, Beach House is where you slide in from the beach for espresso and warm pastries before the wind picks up for the kitesurfers out on the lagoon. Come lunch, it eases into a casual affair — antipasti platters, chilled rosé, grilled fish — served just steps from the sand so you can toggle between table and lounger without changing out of your swimsuit. Chef Cedrik's kitchen leans Mediterranean with Caribbean accents: bright, produce-forward, unfussy. By dinner the mood shifts. Lanterns come on, service tightens, and the wood-fired oven starts turning out blistered pizzas and pastas that anchor a menu built around European technique and island ingredients. Wednesday's Italian Night is the standout — a festive, family-style dolce vita moment that regulars book weeks ahead.
What to Try
Start with the artisanal antipasti board and a Provençal rosé, then split a wood-fired pizza and a house pasta — the kitchen does both exceptionally well. Save room for a classic Italian dessert (the tiramisu is the sleeper hit). At breakfast, skip the buffet mindset and order à la carte pastries with a proper espresso. If you're here on a Wednesday evening, do not miss Italian Night.
Insider Tip
Beach House is technically Rosewood Le Guanahani's restaurant, but it's open to non-guests — and lunch is the loophole. Book a table around 1pm, arrive early, and the staff will happily set you up on a beach chaise beforehand so you get a slice of Grand Cul-de-Sac's calm lagoon (great for kids and swimmers who can't handle Saline's surf) without paying resort rates. Ask for a table on the sand-level terrace, not the upper deck — the breeze and the view are noticeably better.
The Practical Stuff
Location: D209, Anse de Grand Cul-de-Sac, 97133 St Barthélemy, inside Rosewood Le Guanahani. Hours: Breakfast 7:30–10:30am, Lunch 12–3pm, Dinner 6:30–10:30pm daily. Dress code: resort casual (cover-ups fine at lunch; smarter beachwear at dinner). Reservations strongly recommended for dinner and essential for Wednesday Italian Night. About a 20-minute drive from Gustavia and 10 minutes from the airport; valet parking on site. Cards accepted; euros preferred over dollars.
Pair It With
- Grand Cul-de-Sac Beach — The calm, shallow lagoon right outside the restaurant — ideal for a pre-lunch swim, paddleboard, or kitesurf session before you sit down to eat.
- 6e Sens Massage Wellness Beauty — A short walk away; book a late-morning massage and roll straight into a Beach House lunch for a full slow-day ritual.
- Absolute Hot Yoga (Gustavia) — Balance out the pasta and rosé with a morning class in town before driving over for a beach afternoon.
- Abyss Restaurant Guide — If you're staying on this side of the island for a few nights, Abyss makes a good change-of-pace dinner between Beach House visits.
