It's the beach day that Nevis regulars quietly repeat every trip.
The Experience
Wooden picnic tables lean into the shade of palms, a small rig of lounge chairs and umbrellas fans out toward calm, glass-clear water, and the soundtrack is a mellow mix of reggae and soca kept just loud enough to nod to. The crowd is a low-key blend of yachties, cruise-day escapees, and Nevis locals who've made the ten-minute water taxi hop across The Narrows. Owner James Skeets (Mungo to friends) tends to greet you personally; his wife Janelle keeps the drinks moving. It's decidedly quieter than the party bars further down Cockleshell, which is exactly the point ??? this is where you come to actually hear the water.
What to Try
The rum punch is the marquee order and lives up to the reviews ??? fruity up front, honest about the rum on the back end. Cold Carib or Stag beers run around US$3 and mixed drinks about US$5, so a round for the group won't sting. There's no kitchen on-site, but chair-and-umbrella rentals (~US$15) buy you a shady basecamp all day, and Bernadette sets up beachside massages a few steps away. Snorkel gear is available for rent if you want to poke around the reef edge.

From Nevis, skip the long drive and take a water taxi from Oualie Beach or Cades Bay straight to Cockleshell/Banana Bay ??? it's roughly a 10-15 minute ride and drops you a short barefoot walk from No Limit. Arrive before the cruise-ship shuttle crowd rolls in around 11am to claim the front-row loungers, and bring small US bills; cash is king and change for large notes is slow.
