Why Go

Set on the sand at the Four Seasons Resort Nevis, Mango is the island's most atmospheric seaside table ΓÇö a breezy, palm-shaded pavilion where the Caribbean shows up on the plate and in the glass. It's polished but not stuffy, the kind of place where a rum-soaked sunset dinner turns into a slow, three-hour affair.

The Experience

You arrive down a torch-lit path from Pinney's Beach, kick a little sand off your sandals, and slide into a wicker chair looking straight at the twin peaks of St. Kitts. Ceiling fans turn lazily, steel-pan or acoustic guitar drifts in from the bar, and the trade winds do most of the air conditioning. Service is Four Seasons-precise but wrapped in easy island warmth ΓÇö mixologist Kendie Williams and his team will happily walk you through their story-driven cocktail list, each drink built around a Caribbean island or ingredient. Come at golden hour for the Nevis-to-St. Kitts sunset, or linger later when the tiki torches take over and the sea turns to ink.

What to Try

Start with the char-grilled pulpo (octopus) with pumpkin seed and jalapeño purée — a nod to the kitchen's Mexican-Caribbean cross-pollination — or a crisp mango salad that leans into the restaurant's namesake fruit. For mains, the lobster trio is the signature splurge, but don't sleep on the jerk chicken or the slow-braised goat, both firmly rooted in Nevisian home cooking. Cocktails are the other headline: the Mango cocktail is the obvious order, but ask Kendie for whatever he's shaking with the day's fresh fruit and a good aged local rum.

Insider Tip

Reserve the earliest sunset seating and ask specifically for a beachfront two-top on the sand-side edge of the pavilion ΓÇö the tables one row back have the same food but miss half the view. If you're not staying at the Four Seasons, come for cocktails and small plates at the bar rather than a full dinner; you'll get the same sunset, the same mixology, and a much softer bill. Dress is 'elegant resort casual' ΓÇö a linen shirt or sundress does the trick; skip the swimwear even though you're technically on the beach.

The Practical Stuff

Location: Four Seasons Resort Nevis, Pinney's Beach, Charlestown, Nevis. Reservations strongly recommended, especially in high season (DecΓÇôApr) and around sunset ΓÇö book through the resort at +1-800-819-5053 or reservations.nev@fourseasons.com. Typically open for dinner only; hours shift seasonally, so confirm when you book. Price range is high-end (expect resort pricing ΓÇö mains generally in the US$40ΓÇô70 range, lobster higher). Credit cards accepted; a service charge is usually added. Getting there: about a 10-minute taxi from Charlestown or the Sea Bridge ferry from St. Kitts; the resort has a dedicated guest arrival area, and non-guests should mention their dinner reservation at the gate.
