The Experience
Adventure Antigua runs two flagship day trips plus fully private charters, all launching from Antigua's east coast. Eli's Original Eco Tour spends the day drifting through the North Sound — an emerald patchwork of 22 offshore islets, protected reefs, and mangrove creeks — with plenty of stops for snorkeling, swimming, and beach time on uninhabited Bird Island. The Xtreme Circumnavigation is a full lap of the island on a fast custom powerboat, blasting past Hell's Gate rock formation, Stingray City, Green Island, and the towering Pillars of Hercules cliffs. Boats are capped small (private charters max at eight), the crew narrate reef ecology and Antiguan history as you go, and rum punch flows once the anchor is down. Expect roughly six to seven hours on the water, lunch included, with pickups arranged from most resort areas.

First-timers should book Eli's Original Eco Tour — it's the company's oldest itinerary and the one that best captures why people rave about the crew. Snorkelers get the Bird Island reef and a mangrove drift; non-swimmers still get beach time, birdlife, and Eli's storytelling. If you've already done a standard catamaran cruise elsewhere in the Caribbean and want something faster, wetter, and more geographically ambitious, take the Xtreme Circumnav (sit toward the front unless you want to be thoroughly soaked). Traveling as a group of six to eight? The private charter is genuinely the best value on the island for a bespoke day.

Sit in the front rows on the Xtreme boat if you want to stay drier and hear the crew's commentary clearly — the back seats get drenched at speed. On the Eco Tour, ask the crew about local birdlife and reef restoration; Eli's team are conservationists first and tour guides second, and they visibly light up when guests are curious. The Practical Stuff
Based on an unnamed access road on Antigua's east side, with hotel and villa pickups included in the tour price for most areas of the island. Trips run year-round except for a short off-season around September. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, a dry bag for phones, and cash for the crew tip; snorkel gear, lunch, and drinks are provided. Kids are welcome on the Eco Tour; the Xtreme is better suited to ages 10+ due to speed and spray. Advance booking is essential in high season (December–April).
