The Experience
The vibe is grown-up Caribbean without the stiffness — think linen shirts, no lobby music blaring, and staff who somehow remember your drink order by day two. Villas are enormous (over 1,000 sq ft) and spread along a low cliff, so mornings are all birdsong, breeze, and the sound of your plunge pool filter. Days drift between the main infinity pool, the tucked-away beach cove, and the spa; evenings pivot to serious dining. Because it's on the east coast, the trade winds actually work — cooler, breezier, fewer bugs, and the ocean crashes rather than laps. It doesn't feel like a hotel so much as a very well-run private club that happens to feed you extraordinarily well.
What to Try
Book a table at Lighthouse, the signature restaurant, and let the tasting menu happen to you — the kitchen punches well above the usual all-inclusive weight class. For lunch, the beach-side grill does a proper lobster roll and a rum punch that will end your afternoon plans. Between meals, take a plunge-pool breakfast in your villa at least once (it's included and criminally underused), and book a couples' treatment at the spa cabana above the cliffs. Sunrise here is genuinely worth the alarm — the east-facing villas mean the sun comes up right over your balcony.

Ask the front desk to arrange a private boat charter with Adventure Antigua rather than booking the standard resort excursion — Eli Fuller's family-run team has been running the east-coast reefs since 1999 and will take you to Green Island and Bird Island stops that the bigger catamarans skip entirely. Also: villas at the far end of the property (higher numbers) are quieter and get the best sunrise, but require a slightly longer walk to the main pool — request one on booking, don't wait until arrival.
The Practical Stuff
Location: Willikies, on Antigua's east coast, about 45 minutes from V.C. Bird International Airport (transfers are typically included). Adults only, 18+. Fully all-inclusive — food, premium drinks, minibar restock, and most non-motorized watersports are covered; spa, motorized excursions, and boat charters are extra. The east coast means brilliant trade winds year-round but a rougher swimming beach than the west side — the resort cove is calm, but if you want long swimming stretches you'll want a day trip. Best weather December through April; May–June is quieter and cheaper with still-excellent conditions. Dress code leans smart-casual at dinner (no shorts at Lighthouse).
