Bamboo Bar & Grill
Barefoot-luxe beach dining on Meads Bay
Why Go
An open-air, palm-shaded terrace at Four Seasons where wood-fired pizzas and Wagyu burgers land on your table with turquoise Meads Bay literally at your feet.
The Experience
Bamboo lives at the western edge of Meads Bay, one of Anguilla's most photographed stretches of white sand. The room is intentionally casual — tropical hardwoods, bamboo accents, crisp white umbrellas over the deck — but the polish is unmistakably Four Seasons: attentive service, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, and cocktails poured with real care. Come for breakfast and you'll trade emails for the sound of surf; come for lunch and you'll stretch it into an afternoon of swimming, snorkeling the coves at the far end of the bay, and drifting back for one more Meads Bay Sling. It's the rare resort restaurant that manages to feel genuinely local — the Caribbean sun, the island produce, the slightly salty air — while still delivering the kind of plating and consistency you'd expect from the brand on the door.
What to Try
Start with the Coconut & Banana Pancakes drizzled in soursop maple syrup or the avocado toast dusted with hemp seeds if it's a morning stop. At lunch, the Bacon Bamboo Burger — an 8oz Wagyu patty with the kitchen's secret sauce — is the signature, but the homemade Margherita from the wood oven is a strong second pick, and the vegan 'Non Burger' with a mushroom patty holds its own. Wash it down with the Anguilla Fresh or a customizable smoothie from the wellness list.
Insider Tip
You don't need to be a Four Seasons guest — walk-ins are welcome. Park in the resort's visitor lot and take the road to the right (away from the main lobby), following the signs down to Meads Bay. Ask for a table on the sand-side edge of the terrace for the best beach view, and time a late lunch so you can linger through the golden light before the dinner-only spots on the bay start filling up.
The Practical Stuff
Location: Meads Bay, at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla (west end of the beach). Service: breakfast and lunch daily. Reservations recommended in high season via OpenTable or by calling +1 264-497-7000. Dress is beach-casual (cover-ups fine, swimwear-only is not). Price range is upper-mid to high — expect resort pricing. Cards accepted; parking on-site at the resort.
Pair It With
- Meads Bay Beach Guide — Bamboo sits directly on it — build a whole day around swimming and snorkeling the coves at the western end before or after your meal.
- Shoal Bay East — If you're staying on the east side of the island near Fountain, pair a morning on Shoal Bay's powdery sand with a drive west for a leisurely lunch at Bamboo.
- Four Seasons Spa — Just steps from the restaurant — book a treatment and roll straight into a wellness-menu breakfast or smoothie at Bamboo.
- Sunset drinks at nearby Meads Bay bars — Bamboo closes after lunch, so wander the beach at dusk to one of the neighboring sunset spots to keep the day going.
